Note: All IMAP usage from October 2022 will require Device Password.
Step 1: Open Apple Mail and click Mail. In the drop-down menu, click Preferences.
Step 2: Open the Accounts tab, and add a new account by clicking on the plus sign (+) at the bottom of the tab.
Step 3: Under General Information, in the Account Type drop-down menu, click IMAP.
Step 4: For Full Name, enter your name (ex. John C. Doe). For Email Address, enter your PSMail address (ex. username@psmail.net). Then click Continue. (Account Description can be entered per your preference).
Step 5: For Incoming Mail Server, enter “mail.psmail.net.” User Name should be your PSMail address (ex. username@psmail.net), and Password should be your PSMail password. Then click Continue.
Step 6: For Outgoing Mail Server, enter “mail.psmail.net.” Check the Use Authentication box and enter your PSMail address and password for User Name and Password. Then click Continue.
Step 7: A Conclusion screen will appear confirming that a new account has been created. Click Done.
Step 8: In the Accounts tab, under the Account Information for the new account, click Server Settings….
Step 9: Verify that the Outgoing Mail Server is “mail.psmail.net:username@psmail.net” (where “username@psmail.net” is your PSMail address). Also verify that the Server port is “465” and that the Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) box is checked.
Step 10: Enter your PSMail address and password for User Name and Password, and then click OK.
Step 11: In the Accounts tab, under Advanced, check the box next to Use SSL (the port should be “993”). Then you’re done!
