Did you know that headers of an email message can contain
private information such as your computer's location, computer's name,
computer operating system and even the current patch level of your system. Lear how PSMail can help
Here is an example of a Message-ID header of your email message
Message-ID: <
This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it

Received: from JanetsPC (score.mafa.id[162.1.48.170]) by .....
X-Mailer: Microsoft Office Outlook 12.0 (xpsp.0809413-2105)
The received header can be used to locate you as being in
"Indonesia" in this case. Message ID shows that you work for "Indo
Finance" and you use Microsoft Outlook version 12 with the indicated
patch level. At PSMail, we do our best to protect your identity. We
log all information about your PC only for troubleshooting. It is not
sent as part of our outgoing emails and it is not sold to advertising
or marketing partners.
Did you know that you can input email headers to sites such as emailfinder.com or www.ip-address.com and find details of where you were located, when you sent the email and what is your most likely system used. See enclosed image as a sample of what type of private information about yourself can be seen by an outsider. |
