Why am I getting Spam in my psmail.net account? Spam messages can be caused by public display of your email, friends' careless use of your address, online marketing registrations, forums, and any number of other sources. Be sure to read Privacy Policies and opt options by websites requiring registration. Also, inform others that you do not wish to have your email address shared in email. (Read our Quick Tip)
How to avoid / manage spam to your psmail.net mailbox? To avoid spam messages your should take the following steps:
- Avoid giving your email address in public websites.
- Do not signup using your email address to free services without any privacy disclaimers. Register for one of the free email accounts like Yahoo or Gmail for use on the web.
At PSMail we further eliminate spam messages by giving you a tool to use; Here's how:
- Access your PSMAIL via webmail from your browser.
- Go to Manage Account, Spam Control
- Enabling with a score of about "15" should block most normal SPAM. A stronger score of "12" will detect 95% of spam and is useful if you are receiving large amounts of unwanted mail.
Also make use of your White and Black Lists:
- Add legitimate email addresses to the White List, to ensure email is not blocked.
- Add email addresses of chronic offenders to your Black List to permanently block them, regardless of the content of the email they send.
- Our server automatically adds to the White List those to whom you have SENT mail.
- Blocked emails can either be "QUARANTINED" or "DELETED".
- Quarantined messages are sent to you weekly in EML format (zip) that can be opened in your computer and read as normal message. .
- A report of Deleted messages is sent to you weekly; however you can still retrieve them within 30 days. You will receive a report weekly of the deleted emails with the option to White List trusted users.

What is "Deleted emails digest" and "Quarantine email digest"? And why do I not see any emails in my "Deleted emails box" that were spam? This depends on your account setup.

How to retrieve email headers from common software? To retrieve internet email headers in Outlook Express Open the mail message go to "File" -> "Properties" -> "Details" (tab) and then go to "Message Source". To retrieve internet email headers In Outlook, open the message go to "View" and click on "Options" and see the window that says "Internet headers". We need this information to track the email and see details of the message to be able to determine the original sender and block the email.
How to report spam from webmail or web-based email client?
- Login to your PSMail account from your browser.
- Go to "Read Mail" and open the email that is seen as abusive or that you would like to block.
- Click on the icon "Report message as SPAM".
- Step through the process to complete te abuse report.
