PSMail Quick Tip: Those popular little keychain devices to take your data with you ... handy, aren't they? What if you lose it? Are they safe to use?  Do you accept data from someone else's USB? Read on to learn how to handle USB devices.

Do not collect or use USB drives or other removable media until you have scanned the files in the drive with an antivirus software.  An USB can be tampered with to embed malicious software.

And, if you use your USB drive in a public or cafe computer, your USB device might receive hidden files with malicious software on it, just waiting to infect the next computer.

Before putting files on your USB device, password protect your documents with strong passwords. If you lose your device, at least you've made it hard for them to read your personal information.
