It looks like there's a bug in this version Eudaro 5.1: to change a port you have to restart Eudora. Step-by-step instruction to setup Eudora for SSL that works for me:
- Enter Tools / Personalities
- In your personality (right click) / Properties / Incoming Mail set "Secure Sockets when Receiving" to "Required, Alternate Port" Alternate Port should be 465
- Stop and start Eudora
- Try to connect (you'll receive an error)
- In your personality / Properties / Incoming Mail / Last SSL Info / Certificate Information Manager select a certificate and click "Add to Trusted"
