Home Security Tips Email Privacy

PSMail Quick Tip: It's a good idea to regularly delete cookies and remove temporary Internet files from your computer. In Internet Explorer you can do this by going to Tools->Options and then Delete Cookies and Delete Temporary Files. For other browsers, consult the "help" function for directions on removing these unwanted cookies and files.

Email Privacy

PSMail Quick Tip: Did you know that the header of an email message you compose can contain private information such as your computer's location, name, operating system and even the current patch level?

Here is an example of a Message-ID header:

Message-ID:

Received: from JanetsPC (score.mafa.id[162.1.48.170]) by .....

X-Mailer: Microsoft Office Outlook 12.0 (xpsp.0809413-2105)

This header reveals that the sender is in Indonesia. The Message-ID also shows that she works for "Indo Finance" and uses Microsoft Outlook version 12 with the indicated patch level.  At PSMail, protecting your identity is a priority. We log all information about your PC only for troubleshooting.  It is not sent as part of our outgoing emails and it is not sold to advertising or marketing partners.
